Hot tickets

Photos by Michael T. Regan

Tickets for the first playoff game went on sale at the Vet at 10 a.m. on Dec. 30. Fans had begun lining up outside -- with tents and firewood and cases of beer -- the previous Friday night. At 4 a.m. Monday morning, blue wristbands were issued to the first 2,000 fans in line. But chaos ensued anyway, and it was quickly announced that tickets for the next playoff game would be sold only by phone and online.
