It's the first Monday of the month and that means Industry Night at Alla Spina (1410 Mt. Vernon St.). This month Alla Spina's new exec, Pat Szoke (formerly of The Industry) is welcoming Stateside's Elijah Milligan for a fall-centric evening of braised meats, autumn produce, cool weather desserts and seasonal beer and cocktail offerings.
Team Stateside is bringing cider braised veal short ribs, grilled butternut squash, farro and apple risotto, bacon cinnamon buns and a Red October cocktail with rye, port and bitters. Team Alla Spina is kicking in braised beef shanks, potato gratin, brussels sprouts with apples, walnuts and parmesan fonduta, and spiced pumpkin milkshakes. Drinks-wise there is going to be a fall sangria with apples, pears and concord grapes as well as a selection of perfect for this time of year beers like Founders All Day IPA, Victory Festbier and Dogfish Head Punkin.
As per usual the party starts at 10 p.m. tonight, DJ Holly Sue Allen is on the decks, drinks are cheap and the buffet is free. All you need to do is bring a pay stub to prove your industry cred.
