Yesterday the Inquirer broke the big news that Dranoff Properties is SLS International, a towering "47 story luxury boutique hotel and condominium tower" to the corner of Broad and Spruce. Another schmancy hotel sounds great, right? Well, it gets even better.
sbe, the parent company of SLS and Rededbury hotel brands also owns a whole bunch of restaurants in their numerous properties including a handful from everyone's favorite Spaniard/sometimes-Bourdain sidekick Jose Andres and another from Miami restaurateur Michael Schwartz.
No matter who SLS opts to go with, this is some very serious real estate with Sbraga just a few blocks down and Garces' Volver coming to the Kimmel Center. Of course, there's no need to get too excited. Contruction is scheduled to begin next fall and last the better part of two years.
