No plans for Sunday? We've got you covered. In honor of the very important holiday that is Oktoberfest (we're fully on board with any holiday that promotes consumption of copious amounts of beer drinking and sausages) Wursthaus Schmitz in Reading Terminal is partnering up with market neighbor Molly Malloy's for a Bavarian blowout. Geman beers are going to be flowing and Brauhaus chef Jeremy Nolan is going to be on hand serving up his sausage-centric menu plus a roast pork sandwich special. Of course, it wouldn't be an Oktoberfest party without an oompah band so be on the lookout for lederhosen'd tuba players.
On Friday, October 4th the Brauhaus crew is taking the party to City Hall and offering up Oktoberfest revelers a chance to win tickets to the Oktoberfest party at the New York City Wine & Food Festival on October 20th, Hosted by Andrew Zimmern of Bizarre Foods fame, the NYCWFF Oktoberfest looks like it's going to be a blast. Nolen is going to be on hand along with Daniel Boulud's sausage mecca DBGB and meat master Pat LaFrieda.
So yeah, dust off those lederhosen and dirndls and celebrate Oktoberfest.
