Sliding Doors

image

Based on a formal gimmick that never should have made it out of film school, Sliding Doors is a "What if?" that turns into a "Who cares?" Gwyneth Paltrow plays Helen, a jittery PR exec who arrives home one day to find her boyfriend (John Lynch) in bed with another woman… or does she? From the moment Helen barely makes a subway train, arriving home just at the wrong moment, Sliding Doors splits in two, outlining the ways Helen's life would have been different if she had never made that train. From the moment the Helen who does catch the train (and her boyfriend) meets a cute Scottish boy (John Hannah), you know which one's life is going to be better, and when she gets a trendy new haircut the deal is sealed.
