"She looks too pure to be pink." When tough-chick Rizzo (the sublime Stockard Channing) describes the pluperfectly tanned and lovely Sandy (Olivia Newton-John), she's saying what we're all thinking: this nice girl's too good to be true (not to mention, way too old to be in high school). And yet, we also know that Sandy will make the all-important senior year transition, from Sandra Dee-ness to siren supreme, in order to keep her impeccably coiffed T-Bird Danny Zucco (John Travolta) and, not incidentally, to free herself of the football lughead played by a chunky, non-ponytailed Lorenzo Lamas.
