As you ay or may not know, there aren't too many options for Filipino food in Philly. Sure you can head way out to the Northeast on weekends to the Philippine Jeepney Grill (seriously, it's awesome) but today you've got another Filipino option. Beginning at noon today Audrey Claire chef Lou Boquila is serving up Filipino boxed lunches to take out at COOK (253 S. 20th St.) Chef Boquila is going to be making silog-style lunches to go i.e. your choice of chicken, beef or eggplant served with garlic fried rice, lumpia (Filipino spring rolls), fried eggs, flan and sago (kinda like tapioca pearls). All proceed from this lunch pop-up are going to benefit Typhoon Haiyan relief.
