CP Review: There aren’t many elements to contend with in Eugene Ionesco’s The Chairs beyond, well, all those chairs. For the most part it’s two characters, several doors and a couple of windows. That’s exactly what makes it such a tricky piece to pull off, and Idiopathic Ridiculopathy Consortium’s production such a continual unfolding of revelations. Credit the remarkable Tina Brock, who directs and stars with Bob Schmidt, for a note-perfect rendition that manages to create endearing characterizations while careening between absurdities. Shaun Brady | Reader Comments: Allitia September 8th, 9:09 pm A revelation! Tina Brock is hilarious and pitch-perfect. If you've ever wondered (as I did) why we still talk about Ionesco lo these many years later, this performance of The Chairs provides the answer. Brian September 17th, 11:09 am The Chairs is extended thru Saturday 9/19! Tickets still available for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. - Submit A Comment - |
