This quaint (and simply named) 25-seat shop has a primo location right by the Girard El stop. Partners Derick Warren and Joseph McNichols serve La Colombe coffee and espresso and an assortment of light fare, from Kaplan's bagels to tuna, egg, and chicken and seafood salad sandwiches; they bake croissants fresh on the premises daily. There's also WiFi, outdoor garden seating, a dessert menu and a house guitar for anyone who gets the urge to strum. No word on whether the "No 'Stairway'" rule applies here, but we suggest you play it safe by assuming it does. Open Mon.-Fri., 7 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sat., 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun., 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
