Local Sports Journalism Continues to Die a Slow, Painful, Death

categories | Inside the Press Box, Phillies, media

Sports
Illustrated is reporting that MLB.com’s Ken Mandel, who covered the
Phillies well for years, was laid off

Mandel is one
of the good guys, and he’ll land on his feet, but in the wake of the Roberts/Radano fiasco (update: that link should go to Radano’s good-bye post. The Courier Post pulled it down. Real classy), and everything else, this is not encouraging.
