Who Knew Kolb Was Coming?
With reports that Andy Reid was having extensive conversations with Jeffrey Lurie about the possibility of benching McNabb after the Cincinnati debacle coming out, the logical follow-up is who else knew? Was Kolb told of the possibility? It sure didn’t look like he knew he’d be in. Donovan obviously wasn’t. Did the staff know?

How prepared was quarterback Kevin Kolb for his unexpected appearance in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens?
If reports are accurate that coach Andy Reid had been pondering pulling starter Donovan McNabb to the extent that Reid had run the possibility up the proverbial flagpole, then common sense suggests that Kolb might have had an inkling that he could be playing.
The problem, however, is that giving Kolb any reps with the first team would have set off alarms within the locker room, prompting veteran players (such as McNabb) to wonder what might be going on.
It’s obviously a tricky situation – on one hand you want the team to be prepared to change, on the other you need them focused on the narrow task at hand, not who is going to be playing next to them – but with the same problem arising this week (and next, and next, and …) you have to wonder how Coach Reid is preparing the team moving forward.
