Week 12 Thursday Pick

Alright, here’s the long story shortened: I’ve realized I’m
no good at picking NFL games anymore so this week I’ll be deciding which side I
believe in, breaking down I why I believe what I do, maybe laying out some
stats and figures, maybe a snarky observation, and maybe a complete
non-sequitor that my crazy mind is positive
proves one point or another, all as usual. Then I’ll be taking the other side. For example:
PITTSBURGH
(-10½) over Bengals
Call me crazy, but I think the Chad Ocho Cinco benching actually
helps Cincinnati
on the field. COC clearly has lacked on-field chemistry with Harvard Fitzpatrick, and lets face it – even when he’s on his best behavior
Chad is barking to and with the
other team; upset he’s not getting the ball enough; and, decked out with gold
fronts, a Mohawk, filled with enough potential energy that you can’t help but know
where he is on the sideline; he’s going to be a distraction. Combine that with the fact that Chris Henry is hardly a big step down
from 85 on the field and I think taking him away from the team is going to
help the Bengals.
Plus this line is just a
little too high for comfort. With their
banged up mercilessly
beaten offensive line Cincinnati’s
only option is going to try to slow this game down and go possession by possession.
That isn’t a strategy that necessarily
begets wins, but it should beget a low scoring game.
One more thing: when Pittsburgh
is putting Ed
Bouchette and Gerry Dulac on video, the trend might have gone a little too far. Those two goons might be
sound football analysts, but have faces made for Pittsburgh.
