And Now the Important News: You CAN buy beer at game five
![]() |
During typical MLB games beer sales are cut off at the bottom of the 7th inning, an unfortunate occurrence that no doubt saves lives and infuriates drunks. Obviously this is not a rule that was made made with a game that starts in the bottom of the 6th inning in mind, which of course begs the question: how will the Phillies respond to this unique circumstance? Will fans to be able to celebrate drunkenly/ drown their sorrows?
Peter Mucha plays the friend-of-the-people reporter:
Will beer sales be cut off after the seventh inning?
No, says David Freireich, spokesman for Aramark, which operates all the park’s concessions.
“Today is considered a new event,” he said.
So the cutoff would be after seven more innings – which means the brew won’t stop flowing unless a handful of extra innings are played.
