Morning Rounds, October 17th
Another day passes and the Phillies still don’t know who
they’re going to play for the crown. Thanks to one of
those games that look great on a commemorative DVD – the Red Sox were down
7-0 in the 7th and still came back to win – the ALCS goes back to Tampa Bay.
On one hand the two teams get to wear
each other out. On the other, I think I’d
prefer not to face a team that can come back from a 7-0 hole. Only a fresh wound guys, lets go Rays.

“I just can’t believe what happened tonight. It’s devastating.” – Rays leftfielder Carl Crawford
Three lines on their world:
- Boston got in Tampa’s head and sent the ALCS to game six
- The Padres have put Jake Peavy on the trading block
- and, in a plan sure to end well, Fumble Machine Romo is considering playing with a broken finger
Three lines on ours:
- The ALCS managers take stock of the Phils
- The Flyers lose again, this time to the Avs
- And Penn St. gears up to face a reeling Michigan
Phillies, Birds, Sixers, Flyers and what everybody is talking about, after the jump

Look, I more than most believe that the stories revealed in sport are interesting, important, and real, so I’m not against the concept, but Roger Angell these three are not. I had a physical reaction reading this piece. SKIP
