Barack Obama is a Frontrunner
I think I’m late on this, and sorry if it is old news, but according to the Katherine Seelye at the New York Times, the Phillies’ bandwagon has picked up a pretty high profile member: one Mr. Barry Obama. The Senator for Illinois announced his pick during an interview with Philly’s own Mikey Smerconish broadcast last friday.
Mr. Obama assured Mr. Smerconish that he wasn’t picking the Phils just because he was talking to a local audience. Rather, he said, his campaign manager, David Plouffe, “is a huge Phillies fan.” And since his own fave, the Chicago White Sox, are out of the race, he said he had to go with his campaign manager.
