Redskins get 3 free points, beat Cowboys by 2

categories | Cowboys, redskins, schadenfreude

Pro Football Talks/AOL Fanhouse’ Michael David Smith just put up a post that could cause a bit of controversy.

During Sunday’s Redskins-Cowboys game, Washington kicker Shaun Suisham lined up for a 33-yard field goal. As I was watching live, I thought the kick missed, but the officials immediately put their arms up, and I figured I just saw it wrong and didn’t think much of it.

Well, now The Landry Hat points out that you can watch the game highlights at NFL.com, with the field goal in question coming at the 2:12 mark. And I believe that the ball went just wide left (to the right from the vantage point of watching the NFL.com highlights) and the official standing directly under the goal post screwed up.

The video is HERE (right around the 2:10 mark) and from where I’m standing it’s pretty damning.  Until official word comes from the NFL I’m willing to admit that it’s possible the ref has a better view than the camera, but I don’ think so.

Not that I’m complaining: Cowboys, seeing as they lost by two points, and T.O. behaved accordingly:

TO talking like that gives me hope that the following equation will hold true: Cowboys = Mets

They should appeal that game. I can understand a bad call or a close call but when the football misses the goal then the commissioner should step in and reverse the score. Even if a cowboy missed it, it doesn’t matter. The redskins and fans are way off base by excepting that win and now talking play off contention…………PLEASE, whe have a long way to go, and TECHNICALLY…THE SKINS DID NOT WIN. IT IS A CHEAP WIN AND WRONG

LIZ

a win is a win. My advice is to get over it. “Cheap win” is wrong. Those skins played hard and won. Remember we do play again. So save all that “cheap” talk for the next match up when we prove once again who is a better team. We will always have better chemistry as long as the cowboys have TO. He always has a way to drag his team through the gutter and trust me he will. If not this week, or this season, it will happen eventually just watch and see. HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!!!!
