SNACK TIME: Lemme get a medium expanded worldview, half pep half shroom, it’s a crazy, mixed up pasta life, fancy a tipple, govnuh?, stew are you? stewstew, stewstew, building a giant bat to beat a giant pinata, the planet’s eternal love affair with artisan gelato

Every Wednesday (Thursday this week — pulling the Phillies card!) we poke around the food blog world to see what’s simmering.
- In an apparent effort to help munchie-seeking Nova undergrads realize how meaningless their comparative lit degrees will be in the modern international job market, The Economist is distributing “get a world view” pizza boxes to Philly-area dough stretchers. Hey, Iran produces 2.8 percent of the world’s wheat. I wonder if Ahmadinejad is a stuffed crust guy. (I Believe in Advertising via Slice)
- Blogging at apples and cheese, please, our very own Amy Strauss marvels at the whimsically mismatched pasta dishes at Henry’s Café in Pottstown.
- Burning Pasta returns from a hiatus with a recipe for a very proper, very British yellow parrot cocktail.
- We always love the recipes on Farm to Philly, and contributor Naomi’s recipe for a yammy, beefy beery stew is no exception.
- It’s been a great month for national Philly press — we’re World Champions of Baseball, we’re located in an important battleground state … and we’re about to destroy a six-story-tall pinata filled with 800 pounds of candy. Memo to the rest of the U.S.: Y’all suck. (Philly Edge via Deadspin)
-Not sure how I missed this for so long, but there is an entire blog dedicated to how much people love Capogiro. It’s called I Love Capogiro. I found them after they linked to this Meal Ticket post about the Reitanos opening a breakfast/lunch spot. Thanks for the shout, guys!
