Trailer!: Iron Man 2

Whoa, it’s been Trailer! mania for the last couple of days. The trailer for the sequel to the mega smash doesn’t tell much plot-wise but whatever. Here’s what we do know: Samuel L. Jackson returns as S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Nick Fury (eh, still wish it was the ‘Hoff), Gwyneth Paltrow returns as Pepper Potts even though she was the most boring part of the first movie (blech), Scarlett Johansson still has huge knockers (sure!), Mickey Rourke can do a ridic Russian accent and wield electro-whips like the best of them (Da!), RDJ is still wise-cracking and adorable adorable (Awww!) and Rhodey (now played by Don Cheadle, not Terrence Howard) finally gets to put on the War Machine suit (fuck yeah!).
Will it be able to recreate the magic of the first? Probably not. Unless your movie is called Empire Strikes Back, sequels like this tend to get overcomplicated and lose their tentpole’s heat. But then the opening bars of Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man” start to play and I just stop caring about whether it’s going to be good or not.
