Morrissey Ends Show After Being Hit By Plastic Bottle. What Would Your Favorite Artist Do?

Bookmark and Share

Here's the setlist from Saturday night's Morissey show in Liverpool:

This Charming Man, Black Cloud>bonk>splash>show's over.

Saturday night Morrissey was hit in the head with what appears to be a plastic water bottle.

Now, I don't think it's cool to throw anything at performers, but I have to think Morrissey came up really small here. Sure, have security remove the person who did it, even chastise them publicly as they are escorted out. I know he's has been sick lately, but punish all the other fans? Weak.

I just watched Morrissey get hit in the head like 10 times in a row, and let me tell you... it's kinda funny. First of all, it really does seem to be plastic. It bounces like a plastic bottle and Moz has to figure out what's going on. If it were a glass bottle, he'd be like, "Ow! Fuck! I just got hit by a glass bottle."

Like I said, I'm not condoning the action and I understand why he was upset. But be a pro man, hell, remember rock 'n' roll from your youth a bit. One of my favorite bands has glow sticks hit them regularly, sometimes they improvise with them. The intent behind the actions is different, but it's just a show, and the show must go on.

Am I wrong? What do you think your favorite performers might do?

My guys?

Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine most likely would have finished the song, asked the crowd who threw it, have the guy ejected, and finish the show (provided it was an isolated incident).

Lemmy of Motorhead (who is GOD!) would finish the song, take the bottle, make a sexual joke about the bottle and the thrower, and then go into “No Class”!

Axl Rose of Guns ‘N’ Roses would dive into the stage and kick the guys ass!

Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden would call Sharon Osbourne a c**t, because no one else would DARE to do that to IRON-FUCKING-MAIDEN!

But most of the bands I like (Like Municipal Waste, In Flames, Shadows Falls) wouldn’t care and just go on without a problem.

It seems that as the musicians get older, the less likely they are to tolerate this crap. They’ve paid their dues, made respectable careers, and are frankly just too old for that crap! Most younger bands can handle it with dignity and class.

And that’s why The Mars Voltra are a bunch of wimps!

He doesn’t let people drink alcohol at his shows and this still happens?

Morrissey cried after something happened? Shocker.

Morrissey IS my favorite artist, and this is what he did. Earlier this year someone threw a beer at him, he stopped the show, had the person thrown out, and continued with the rest of the show. He has allowed a lot over the years in terms of interacting with his audience. How many other 50-year-old legends allow stage invasions? I think he’s earned enough respect by now not to be bottled at his own show. After having been ill and hospitalized recently, then quickly resuming the tour, maybe he decided he just wasn’t going to put up with it.

Moz = pussy.

I went to Wu-Tang show where someone threw a beer at Method Man; Meth proceeded to jump into the crowd, beat the crap outta the kid that threw the beer, and then was yanked back onstage by a couple of Wu members. The rap never stopped and Meth didn’t miss his verse.

Maybe he should have sprayed the audience with an Uzi?

Think of Morrissey of a modern-day Frank Sinatra. He gets up there because of his ego, and the adoring crowds. Would somebody throw a bottle at the Chairman? They hurt is pride more than anything.
