Filmmaker/former CP contributor Mary Patel files suit against Make U Famous Productions partners
On March 6, Patel vs. Make U Famous Productions, LLC et al. was filed at City Hall by former CP columnist Mary Patel’s attorney David Wisniewski of the law firm of Wisniewski and Mensing LLP. The suit is for fraud, breach of fiduciary duties and breach of contract. Make U Famous Productions LLC is restaurant-owning brothers Michael and Jerry D'Addesi of Vesuvio and Christopher Perez. In addition to her work with CP, Patel was co-producer/director of the film Electile Dysfunction.
Patel, who is not talking, was a member/owner of Make U Famous. She is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 on her investment of $300,000 and rights to projects such as the graphic novel Dead Bitch Army (re-titled Hollow-Eyed Mary) and her procuring of scriptwriter Mark Webber (Explicit Ills) for his services in penning their film version of Continuing Ed.
Jerry D’Addesi, to whom I spoke with on the phone, said they retained the services of Cozen & O’Connor’s Melanie Miller, who I couldn’t get hold of by the time of this post but will surely speak with in the future. Keep watching.
