Catching up on yesterday's updates, here is the latest from Brian's Facebook:
posted yesterday morning:
Just talked to the nurse. Brian was started on levaquin for gram negative bacteria in his sputum last night, but his fever went back up to 102.9 overnight. Hopefully a higher dose will help unless its just a fever from his injuries. He had a restful night and had to be sedated twice since we were there at 830pm bc he was agitated. He didn't really respond to commands this am.
and last night:
Brian Hickey is doing well today. He had his eyes open most of the day and responded to commands such as thumbs up, two fingers up, and lifting up his arm for the bp cuff.
This all sounds like progress, which is all we can hope for. Well, that and that the person responsible steps forward.
Read Jeff Pearlman's column in Metro.

One reason he could have had a spike with fever would be the levaquin. This is a very dangerous drug. Please research this drug. It has crippled many. Google it or check out fqresearch.org
