John Wayne Bobbitt declared medically unfit for Celebrity Boxing gig

When the freak fans and wrestling acolytes drove in the rain to Broomall's Marple Sports Arena for Damon Feldman’s Celebrity Boxing Federation (CBF) gig on Saturday night, they weren't just coming to watch Fox weatherman John Bolaris get a CBF Hall of Fame award. They came there to watch teeny tiny Wack Pack-er Beetlejuice battle it out. And they came to see once-upon-a-time dick-snipped John Wayne Bobbitt face off against Philly comedian Bob Levy. Which didn't happen: Several failed blood pressure tests by Dr. David Nadler and an EMT staff decided that Bobbitt was "not medically cleared for his Celebrity Boxing match against Bob Levy and the fight was called off," says Feldman. Rumor has it some high-energy Red-Bully sports drinks brought Bobbitt’s pressure up.

That said, the show had to go on, and Tom "Z Bar" Hirschman, a wrestler with Pro Wrestling Unplugged, fought Levy, with the funny man winding up with the decision. With the win, Levy claims the CBF Cruiserweight title. And Bobbitt? "He was disappointed," says Feldman. "He really wanted to fight regardless, but my career is on the line with things like that and I think he understands."
Apparently Bobbitt will be part of Feldman’s next big card for the Celebrity Boxing Federation’s baseballer (Jose Canseco) vs. radio jock (WYSP’s Danny Bonaduce) match, scheduled for Jan. 17 in the Philadelphia area. Check out this Thursday's Icepack for some more Bobbitt/Bonaduce/Feldman news.
