Details on Caffeination 21st and Chestnut

Mitchell Cohen, a former retail VP for EBGames, hopes to soft-open Caffeination, an 18-seat café on the southwest corner of 21st and Chestnut, by Oct. 27. (Grand opening's set for Nov. 8.) Cohen, who's trained at Portland's American Barista and Coffee School, is a South Jersey native who relocated to Philly in the spring. (His wife, Sharon, is the chair of the math department at Masterman.)
Taking over for high-end boutique Chic Bella, Caffeination will be an unapologetic celebration of everyone's favorite "legal drug of choice." Espresso and coffee (it'll all be hand-tamped) will be provided by West Chester's Morning Star Coffee. There'll be an entire selection of caffeinated retail products, including sunflower seeds, lollipops, soaps and gums. Food-wise, they'll be doing bagels, muffins and pastries along with pies, cakes and panini.
Cohen also believes he'll be the first coffeehouse in Philly to offer red tea espresso, which was a big hit at this year's Coffee Fest conference — the stuff comes pre-ground, and it's potent enough to be brewed like traditional espresso. Flavor-wise, he says, it's a little sweet, with none of espresso's characteristic bite.

I am looking forward to this place. I live over around 22nd and walnut, sounds like good place to get your buzz on!
Stopped in and was really impressed by the place. Excellent coffee and food. The service was great and I plan on making this a daily ritual
I work across the street from Caffeination and I am thrilled with this place. Great staff, good coffee, pleasant surroundings. I start each morning with a cup of their coffee!
A Fantastic location, great decor, great choices of drinks and cafe foods. Tired of the competiton, either too strong coffee or too weak. Caffeination makes it perfect! Also fab teas!
