Bar 210 at Lacroix debuts this month

Bar 210, the new feature at Lacroix at the Rittenhouse that we first reported here, will make its official debut later this month. Official-sounding details after the jump.
Philadelphia, PA (September 2008) --- This September unveils more than just changing leaves and cooler temperatures on Rittenhouse Square; it’s also the unveiling of Bar 210 at Lacroix at the Rittenhouse Hotel. Bar 210, named after its famous street address, 210 West Rittenhouse, will open in mid-September and be situated in the elevated portion of the Lacroix dining room. This upscale bar will feature exceptional handcrafted cocktails and an extensive wine list. Executive Chef Matthew Levin is creating a one-of-a-kind bar menu featuring unique cocktails made from house-infused liquors and eclectic ingredients. Guests will be able to sip custom-made cocktails all while enjoying a picturesque view of Rittenhouse Square.
The renowned design team at Marguerite Rodgers Ltd. used inspiration from the beautiful Rittenhouse Park to design Bar 210. The team transformed a portion of the famous Lacroix dining room into a chic bar using an expert eye for design. They set a dark Mahogany wood bar back with an elegant u-shaped Bellagio granite bar top in the center of the dining room flanked with 10 ultra comfortable chairs. Four stone-based cocktail tables are situated around the bar area with light plank wood and hand-woven rattan chairs allowing guests to enjoy nibbles from the mouthwatering bar menu created by Chef Levin. Other luxurious design elements include the Edelman chocolate brown herringbone leather floor and Jim Thompson golden- toned wall upholstery.
An 8-by-9 custom piece of artwork created by local artist Magan Stevens stands as the focal point of the bar. The artwork is inspired by traditional Asian landscape painting and endures a modern interpretation that transforms the room from afternoon to evening. To enhance the bar’s chic mood, lighting experts at Sean O’Connor Lighting created custom illumination to enhance the bar’s atmosphere.
