Friday: Time to double team it by feeding your mind and soul, while inspiring you to get your flabby ass off the couch and back onto the two-wheeler. Fuji Bikes, Jinxed Philadelphia and R.E.Load enlisted 20 artists to pimp out some fixed gears and create art out of bicycles. A portion of the proceeds goes to the Neighborhood Bike Works. There's more for the artfully inclined: Horror film aficionado Trenton Doyle Hancock used to live with the scariest of all creatures: VEGANS! His just-about-to-close show is a tribute to his former, probably incredibly irritating roomies. Other than harangue people about their eating habits, vegans are good at one thing …
Saturday: … Eating their fruits and veggies! So we tip our hats to you today, no-animal-byproduct-eaters of the world with a day of activities that even you freaks could eat (um, if you wanted to eat activities…). The Apples in Stereo are both vegan friendly in name AND they love Stephen Colbert!
I don't know about your Omnibusers, but that got me moving and shaking, just like the ladies of the Black Women's Arts Fest, who did a complete overhaul this year and are ready to make their mark.
Sunday: The heart rate is already pumping, so let's keep it up there. May I suggest the modern pentathlon? Eh, too much work. There's always the option of looking at/listening to art by people who move heavy objects all day. Surely, they're in good enough shape for all of us.
