El Fuego 2 coming to Chestnut Street?

Nosy us: Strolling around the other night, we noticed one of those tell-tale orange licensing signs in the window of the location that formerly housed Palumbo's Grill, which closed earlier this year (2104 Chestnut St.). The applicant: "Square Burrito II, Inc." The listed address: 723 Walnut Street. Wait! That's El Fuego — a longtime CP favorite (hell, citywide favorite) for cheap, quick, fresh Mexi fare, Tecate at 2 p.m. and futbol on the flat-screen. No matter what's in store here, it's gonna be great.
We gave the spot a ring, but the owners are MIA until later in the week. As always, we'll share more as we learn more.
















[...] Looks like a second El Fuego is on tap. At least that’s what reading between the lines on the orange placard at 2104 Chestnut Street leads us to believe. The liquor license transfer is for Square Burrito II Inc. from Square Burrito Inc. at 723 Walnut St, the address of El Fuego. Seems like a great place for an El Fuego offshoot but does it mean that the original El Fuego is going liquor free?
