Bridesmaids' dresses are almost always hideous — it's their nature to be puffy, poorly colored and one night away from the Goodwill rack. But instead of tossing them, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is hosting its 17th annual fundraiser in honor of chartreuse taffeta. Started by a former staff member at LLS who found her closet overflowing with pink and ruffled eyesores, the event brings together both couples and singles to raise money for blood cancer research. There'll be music from Split Decision, refreshments, an ugliest dress/tackiest tux contest, and a four-hour open bar — just like a normal wedding, but without the pretense that you actually like what you're wearing.
