Riot!, Paramore's 2007 million-seller, was well-named. Viscerally, it felt more like an avalanche — a deluge of devastatingly blissful, blistering power-pop/punk/emo/pick your modifier — but a riot's like a landslide made out of people, and Paramore are a crucially human band. They thrive on the tumult of a crowd (and vice versa) and they're not afraid to spell it out — q.v. the sing-along-by-fiat "Born for This," just one among that album's anthems. Their brand-new Brand New Eyes (Fueled by Ramen) offers another dozen barnstormers, all primed to incite: "I've got a feeling if I sing this loud enough, you'll sing it back to me." Sure thing, Hayley.
