Kris Chau

Designer

Published: Apr 8, 2009

Stylist: Shari Roulin | Location: Moda Botanica

Kris Chau doesn't need any styling help, but the illustrator and Free People designer jumped at the chance to be dressed by Reward owner and former URBN buyer Shari Roulin. Reward is fantasyland for the runway-hungry, the store where you can obsess over Something Else bikinis and Samantha Pleet rompers straight from the New York showrooms. Here, Kris channels a curious, designer-clad nymph peering through the redbud at MODA botanica. The florists are fresh off their Best in Show win at the Flower Show, and the silvery air plants and exotic orchids from their winning design take on new life as organic accessories. Kris' self-proclaimed "party lipstick," Sephora No. 67, adds a touch of hot-pink '80s glamour to an otherwise natural look.

► Kaleidoscope romper, Samantha Pleet ($275); braided belt, Paul & Joe Sister ($98); croc-embossed leather sandal, F-Troupe ($198): all at Reward (55 N. Second St.). Black tights, stylist's own.

► Makeup by Laura Bartusis, Jean Madeline Aveda Institute; flowers in hair by Bailey Hale at MODA botanica.

► Shot at MODA botanica, 339 S. 13th St.
