In the Event That...

You've Got Brains on the Brain

Published: Sep 23, 2008

Philly Zombie Prom | Sun., Sept. 28, 8 p.m, $7, Trocadero, 1003 Arch St., 215-922-6888, thetroc.com

Nothing's more horrifying than memories of prom. Haunting us years later like an overachieving poltergeist, no one can forget the corsages, the poofy dresses, the tuxes that never fit. In honor of the quintessential pinnacle of senior high, the Philly Zombie Prom plays on old fears with a twist of bloody glitz and glamour. Hosted by DJ Robert Drake, Dave Ghoul and Melissa Torre, Philly's second annual Zombie Prom will ring in the haunting season with the help of Mr. Halloween himself, Henri David.

Taking over the entire Troc, the evening will feature DJ Kiltboy and makeup artists from Terror Behind the Walls, who, for $10 and up, will make prom-goers look drop-dead gorgeous. In addition to on-site zombification, Drake and Ghoul will be spinning spooky beats leading up to two live sets by Live Not on Evil and the Young Werewolves. The evening culminates, naturally, with the crowning of the Zombie King and Queen, but plenty of undead will go home with prizes. Bring on the brains.
