Sept. 19 is the night of a thousand musical choices (Stars at the Trocadero, Ice Cube at the TLA, Mogwai at Starlight Ballroom, Alanis Morissette at Tower Theater), but you gotta go with Motorhead on this one. Otherwise Lemmy Kilminster might hunt you down.

Sept. 19, Electric Factory, 421 N. Seventh St., 215-627-1332, livenation.com.

Built to Spill

Doing Perfect from Now On. Maybe openers The Meat Puppets will do II, because that would be awesome.

Sept. 20 and 21, the Trocadero, 1003 Arch St., 215-922-LIVE, thetroc.com.

Weezer

Seeing as Buddy Holly checked out at age 22, maybe the relatively elderly Rivers Cuomo can pick a new dead celeb to resemble. But he still better play that song.

Sept. 27, Susquehanna Bank Center, 1 Harbour Blvd., Camden, N.J., livenation.com.

The High Strung

With autumn rolling in, it'll take something special to energize you to roll out on a Monday night. Hello, The High Strung.

Sept. 29, Johnny Brenda's, 1201 N. Frankford Ave., 215-739-9684, johnnybrendas.com.

The Wedding Present

Sell-out alert: Tickets for this one are going to go fast, and may be gone by the time you read this.

Oct. 10, North Star, 2639 Poplar St., 215-787-0488, northstarbar.com.

Blackest of the Black Festival

Oh man. This is completely badass: Danzig, Dimmu Borgir, Moonspell, Skeletonwitch, Winds of Plague. To quote This Is Spinal Tap: "How much more black could this be? And the answer is none."

Oct. 14, Electric Factory.

Method Man and Redman

Hopefully performing more than the songs from their stoner flicks and short-lived TV show.

Oct. 15, the Trocadero.

Classic Rock Experience: Live Wire

Tribute bands invade the Electric Factory. Dude, you're getting Live Wire (an AC/DC tribute), the Pink Floyd Experience and Led Zepplica all for less than it would cost to see just one of the originals. Use the extra money to get drunk. Really, really drunk.

Oct. 25, Electric Factory.

Of Montreal

On Halloween! Shame on you if you don't wear a costume.

Oct. 31, Electric Factory.

Coldplay

Dub this one Parking Lot Cluster Fuck in South Philly Night. Coldplay at the Center and Dashboard Confessional, Panic at the Disco and Plain White Ts at the Spectrum.

Nov. 1, Wachovia Center, 3601 S. Broad St., 215-336-3600, wachoviacenter.com.

Drive-by Truckers, The Hold Steady
Weezer

If ever you wanted to use music as an excuse to drink, this is your chance.

Nov. 8, Electric Factory.

Madonna

Have you heard of her? I need only write "Holiday," "Borderline" or "Like a Virgin" and the songs will be stuck in your mind all day. Or you're remembering the opening scene of Reservoir Dogs.

Nov. 20, Wachovia Center.

Neil Young, Wilco

Grab some flannel and a thermos of hot chocolate for some old-fashioned tailgating as you swap stories of Spectrum concerts gone by. They tear the old girl down in 2009.

Dec. 12, Wachovia Spectrum, 3601 S. Broad St., 215-336-3600, comcastspectacor.com.

Why is it so fucking hard to find the regular listings on this site?
by bilgusteinembob on September 17th 2008 1:51 PM

Check out "Events" on the top navigation bar of the site. The "Agenda Listings" option will allow you to search events by category. You can also use the "Events" tab in the box in the top right corner of the site to search listings by both keyword and category. Visiting http://citypaper.net/agenda will also give you access to event previews and listings by category.
