A Perfect Fit: Fashioning Futures for Women

Published: Jun 4, 2008

Wed., June 11, 5:30-8:30 p.m., $60, World Café Live, 3025 Walnut St., 215-568-6693, careerwardrobe.org

A suit might make the man, but the Career Wardrobe knows ladies need a couple more pieces. Based in Philadelphia for over a decade, the nonprofit has provided more than 50,000 women in need with interview-appropriate clothing to jump-start their careers. Their annual benefit fashion show, A Perfect Fit: Fashioning Futures for Women, will feature local radio and TV personalities donning their donated clothes as well as women who have become Career Wardrobe success stories in the very outfits they were hired in.

"It's a true testament of everything we do. All the money from this event goes to our organization, and to be able to see in person what the end result looks like is truly inspirational," says executive director Sheri Cole. The evening will also feature a silent auction of one-of-a-kind Viv Pickle handbags that have been autographed by, among others, Hillary Clinton, Sarah Jessica Parker, John Travolta, Matt Lauer and the cast of The Office.
