What We Heart

LinuBaby Crib Linens

Published: Apr 22, 2008

$48-$384, Linu Boutique, 1034 Pine St., 215-238-0747, linubaby.com

Karina Sotnik, owner of Linu Boutique, greets shoppers with smiles and offers of espresso at her lovely Pine Street store, in which glowing Baltic amber jewelry is displayed along with Swedish throws and luxurious French table cloths. Nestled in a crib at the back of the shop, however, lies the real treasure: pure linen sheets for baby.

Tired of the commercial bedding options, Sotnik decided to design something that she knew her babies would enjoy. Linen is, evidently, magical stuff. According to linubaby.com, it may alleviate some common allergic reactions and is resistant to bacteria, fungus, dust mites and even radiation. It's also thermo-regulating, which is a fancy way of saying that the crib is toasty in the winter and cool in the summer. And unlike most cotton, flax doesn't require pesticides, which means its byproduct, linen, is both eco- and baby-friendly.

Simply and elegantly designed, LinuBaby linens can be personalized with your little one's monogram. But perhaps most importantly, as stylish babies are still babies, they are incredibly durable and can be washed with abandon.
