Cold beer on a hot day  so good, it wouldn't be surprising if City Council passed a resolution banning it. If you're looking for a good place to tank up before they drop the hammer, head to Kensington's Atlantis: The Lost Bar  across the street from the Yards Brewery. "We call [Atlantis] our east office," says Yards co-owner and bar regular Bill Barton.

The devotion goes both ways. "We've got every Yards made here," says bartender Kaight Taylor. Recently, four of the taps were loaded with the brewery's choices: Philly Pale Ale, Extra Special Ale, an IPA and the seasonal Sexy Sister.

"There must be an underground line from the brewery," says recent Kensington transplant Shawn Zamechek of the abundance of Yards. While that's not true, the proximity must help keep costs down. A pint here is just $3, dropping to $2 every Friday from 5 to 7.

The prices make the bar attractive to Fishtown's cash-poor but taste-rich artistic types. And, with the availability of other cheap deals like the $3 citywide special, the Lost Bar also brings in a loyal clientele from the surrounding neighborhoods. Go ahead and get there  preferably before your local councilperson does.
