According to bartender Pat Driscoll, the ogre-sized Lee Jeans are about 5 and a half feet wide and between 15 and a half and 18 feet tall. The story behind the pants begins in Strasburg, Va., where Travis Smith, the man responsible for the interior design of Buffalo, stumbled across them in an antiques store.
"The owner told me they were a promotional prop used by Sears in the men's clothing department in the 1960s," says Smith.
At first, the Buffalo owners worried that the overalls didn't fit with either the Western-themed downstairs or the art-deco upstairs. Still, they're a
favorite photo op for patrons.
"A lot of people get their picture taken grabbing the crotch," says Driscoll.
It's still Old City, people, what do you expect?
