Arts Agenda : Picks

Justify Your Existence

What:

Amish Vows in Paradise, a dinner theater production complete with an "Amish Wedding Feast" served family-style at your table

Who:

Mike Crellin, technical theater operator and actor

When:

Runs through Nov. 4, $20-$46.50

Where:

Freedom Chapel Dinner Theater, 15 N. Bridge St., Christiana, Pa., 610-593-7013

What Makes You So Special:

"The show mostly deals with curiosity," says Crellin. "We're all in contact with the Amish around here, but nobody really knows what goes on with them. The feast that's served is the traditional local Amish menu of roast chicken, ham, creamed celery, homemade bread and tomato salad—which usually gets the older people in the audience to say, 'Whoa!' because they can't handle that much food."
