Word On The Street

Godspell at the Walnut Street Theatre

1 Glen Pruitt | 45 nonprofit worker

"Godspell was the first play that I ever did in high school. I sang 'All Good Gifts,' so of course that's my favorite song in the show. This production is so different than any other I've seen. It's set in Philadelphia, current day and time, right under the Ben Franklin Bridge, and the harmonies are intricate and beautiful."

2 Ken Mahan | 47 analyst for Comcast

"I'm just loving it and taking it all in. At intermission I sat there thinking of whom I could call to tell them to get up here and see it. The band is actually a character in the show; Jesus is on the keyboard and Judas plays the electric guitar. It's probably the most interactive version I've seen."

3 Alexander Hermanowski | 22 Drexel student

"It's really captivating, but I have a hard time sort of keeping track of what's going on. The music is great but the dialogue and parables can make the plot a little confusing."
