Anyone paying attention to bookstores (please say "yes") knows it's been a Warholicious winter with the publishing of Stars, Deaths, and Disasters 1962-1964, Screen Tests: The Films of Andy Warhol Catalogue Raisonne, Warhol's World and Andy Warhol: Giant Size.
Even if you didn't read the damned books, you saw his paintings. And even if the pop implications of work meant to critique the vanity and religion of 20th-century Americans were too much, you looked at the photos of soigné Warhol and his velvety underground minionsthe Edies of the '60s, the Biancas of the '70s, the Debbies of the '80sand saw how they dressed.
Now if your feeble brain could cobble that together and figure out how to turn it into a theme party that actually benefits the education department of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, you're ready for its annual Art After Dark bash, Bam! Wow! Pop! Art!
Pull out the Mary Quant makeup, Pucci finery and silk-screening gloves (one of the night's activities), and run through its Modern galleries, which feature both camouflage Andys and electric chair Andys.
You're partying. You can work out the reading and development of critical faculties later.
