THE WEEK IN EATS

Grecian Grapes
Fri., May 5, 6:30-8:30 p.m., $40

The Greeks invented the business of grape growing, and on Friday, Grecian eatery Estia is importing bottles from the old country's George Skouras and Alpha wineries. Add complimentary tapas and you'll feel like you're having your own midsummer night's dream. Greek Wine Tasting, Estia Restaurant, 1405 Locust St., 215-735-7700.

Rittenhouse Rules
Sat., May 6, noon-5 p.m., free

What better way to celebrate the return of warm weather than by throwing a block party? When your block is Rittenhouse Square, you can expect more than 50,000 people from all over the Delaware Valley to show up. On hand to offer affordably priced portions of their dishes will be Smith and Wollensky, Barclay Prime, Roy's, Le Castagne, Twenty Manning, Lacroix and Le Bec-Fin. The Starr Restaurant Organization will also be hosting an all-day cooking demonstration. Even the meter cops are taking the day off for this—spots between Broad and 20th, and Market and Spruce streets will be free from noon to five. Everybody wins! Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival, Walnut Street between Broad and 19th sts., 215-972-0101.

Scavenging While Intoxicated
Thu., May 11, 6:30 p.m., $30-$50 per person

Answer riddles and explore the museum—all while under the influence. This hunt requires no previous knowledge of the displays, so don't be intimidated by those History Channel-watching know-it-alls. The generous samples of wines from Italy, Africa and Australia should also help level the playing field. Wined Through History, University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, 3260 South St., 215-898-4000.
