G. THANG: "I definitely wanted to bridge the gap between musical theater and rock," says DeCandia.

His role as producing artistic director of BCKSEET Productionsthe resident theater company at Society Hill Playhouse's second stage, "The Red Room," where he's also general manageris what's allowed DeCandia to play with his play.
"It's a two-sided project: the rock show and the stage show, depending on the venue. Someplace like Fergie's, that'll be the rock." But that doesn't mean DeCandia shirks on the drama in a smaller venue. Big light shows and wildly flourishing guitars accentuate a story that unfolds with two men fighting for the love of a muselike womanusually played by Curve Dominant's other CD label baby, soul-power pop singer Naeemah.
"I hadn't even seen the play before Greg came to my studio last summer," says Vincent, who discovered both Naeemah and DeCandia on the same night at a Fergie's open mic. "Greg came to my studio with the concept in blueprint stage." Together they went for a classic Led Zeppelin sound, and got Vincent's brother, ex-Godsmack guitarist Kurt Schneck, to noodle throughout the recording. Bang. A G.Starr was born. "We resurrected the rock star and killed the pop star," says DeCandia.
