Dangerous Women
Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, Wed., April 5, 7:30 p.m., free, Scheuer Room, Kohlberg Hall, Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, 215-563-7110
Much of this mayhem and chaos can be attributed to Jane Addams, the first president of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF). Addams was labeled the "most dangerous woman in America" in the 1920s. Today this uncontrollable group of peacemongers fights for equality and justice in every part of the world. Somebody ought to stop them soon.
Next week, catch eight of WILPF's past presidents as they recount their adventurous and often tumultuous histories as leaders of this peace organization. Here's hoping we can get 'em knocked up and barefoot before the night's over.
