Few things are as exciting as watching rocks, but the Japanese have kicked it up a notch.

Suiseki, the ancient art of viewing stones, originated in China more than 2,000 years ago and took Japan by storm in the sixth century. Stare at the stones long enough and legend has it you'll see miniature landscapes, humans or animals. Think of it like the cloud game, where puffs of cumulonimbus turn into happy bunnies—but with rocks.
