Rob Dickinson

rock/pop

The ex-Catherine Wheel frontman takes the solo thing seriously when he hits the North Star stage with just a guitar. Fresh Wine for the Horses (Sanctuary Records), his first man-alone effort, replicates his former band's thrilling whisper-to-a-storm dynamics while adopting a more intimate, if occasionally overweening, lyrical approach.

Thu., March 2, 9 p.m., $12-$14, with Keisha Hutchins, North Star Bar, 2639 Poplar St., 215-684-0808, www.northstarbar.com.
