Why So Many?

Bluffin' With Butch

Every Sun., 7 p.m., Black Sheep, 247 S. 17th St.; every Mon., 9 p.m., Tavern on Camac, 243 S. Camac St.; every Tue., 8 p.m., Sisters, 1320 Chancellor St.; and every Thu., 8 p.m., Lula, 225 S. 12th St.; free.

The only things you have to consider when it comes to choosing one of Butch Cordova's Queer Poker nights is who has the hottest king, where resides the finest Five Card Stud, which one seats the ditziest queens, and seriously, seriously, which one is holding the biggest one-eyed Jacks. With those criteria in mind, bet on Black Sheep (because breaking in the straights has got to be the best part of poker night) and Tavern on Camac (because it's a classic old-school bar). Hold your chips when it comes to Sisters. Female poker players, indeed!
