Just Do It

Have a Heart, Help a Victim

East Division Crime Victims Services 215-426-4810

Navigating the court system can be a mind-boggling ordeal, especially for victims of crime. "[They] shouldn't have to be victimized again," says Stephanie Mayweather, executive director of East Division Crime Victim Services, an agency that operates as a personal guide through the criminal justice labyrinth. EDCVS needs volunteers to attend proceedings, explain legal mumbo-jumbo, update victims on case developments and keep tabs on the defendants. They even show victims how to apply for the benefits to which they're entitled. No prior experience necessary.
