Cincinnati-born artist Paul Coors wants us to remember a time before PDAs, laptops and Starbucksa time when all families had to worry about was which piece of furniture to hide under during an atomic attack. Named after a 1954 film about the Cold War, Coors' work (pictured) addresses humanity's feelings of powerlessnessboth in the Leave It to Beaver era and today.

If there's one thing we can learn from watching VH1 specials, it's that fame has a high price. Tom Eyen and Henry Krieger's 1981 musical tells the story of a girl group determined to soar to number one and the ambitious manager leading its chart climb. The winner of six Tony awards, Dreamgirls traces the girls' path through a whirlwind of changes and turmoil as they, like so many before them, head to the Big Apple with stars in their eyes.
