Walk on the Wild Side

Kelly White

FETISH PARTY

Boy is like an action figure, complete with superhero costume, sunglasses and hood, props and a custom-designed toy box. Boy is Carpet Boy, proper, and he's spent the last 15 years giving stiletto-wearing sadists the trample of their life. You see, Carpet Boy is a human carpet. He works the local fetish circuit and lies down for anywhere from 150 to 200 tramplers on a typical party night. A retail manager by day, the trampling specialist says parties like Vesago's upcoming Feather Fetish Friday are his "bread and butter." He even has a pact with Vesago founder DJ Octo-Pussy to be his "sole and exclusive carpet."

Octo-Pussy is no stranger to strange himself. The DJ has many special talents—beat spinning, fire breathing, stilt walking and shooting sparks from his crotch—but says he's best at partying and used his freak-genius love of the dark-arts underground to create Vesago, themed fetish blowouts held once a month. This week's party finds Octo-Pussy, DJ Anton Chasm and MC High IQ setting the industrial-goth sound for a runway show featuring feathery, latex-y fashions from Peacock Blue Design Studio. If plumage isn't your bag, stick around for the Vesago All-Stars, featuring go-go girls, rope bondage by Shabari Warrior, dungeon mistress Lady Miranda, Kallisti video projections and body painting courtesy Salamander Body Art. "We wanted to incorporate different facets of the fetish scene," says Octo-Pussy, who plans on wearing a chicken costume. What next—a Fur Ball for fur balls? Perhaps we spoke too soon.

Vesago's Feather Fetish Friday, Fri., Jan. 6, 10 p.m.-3:30 a.m., $10-$15, Emerald City, 460 N. Second St., 215-413-2500, www.vesago.com.
