Stoudt's Beer Dinner, Fork, 306 Market St., 215-625-9425, www.forkrestaurant.com.

South of the Border

Take it easy with Slow Food Philadelphia as members mosey down Ritner Street for a taste of authentic South Philly. After visiting some of the top bakeries and butchers in the neighborhood (including Dad's Stuffings, Potito's and Matteo's), they'll be stopping for lunch at Bomb Bomb Italian Restaurant and Bar-B-Que Grill.

Ritner Street Tour, Slow Food Philadelphia, call for meeting location, 610-328-8612.

Chef Costume
Tue., Oct. 25, 7:15 p.m., $45
If the cell phone-toting brats in your neighborhood look less than enthused when you give them a handful of raisins each Halloween, this class is for you. The teachers at Williams-Sonoma will spend Tuesday showing would-be door answerers how to make a whole host of Halloween treats including pretzel fingers, mulled cider, chocolate-spice cookies and pumpkin ice cream.

Halloween Harvest, Williams-Sonoma, 200 S. Broad St., 215-545-7392.

Bayou Benefit
Thu., Oct. 27, 8 p.m-midnight, $75-$150
Even more love from Philadelphia to New Orleans. The Dave Magrogan consulting group is hosting a masquerade fundraiser in the Wanamaker Building's Crystal Tea Room, which will be decked out to resemble pre-Katrina New Orleans during Mardi Gras. There will be live music in addition to Cajun cooking and an open bar.

Bring Back the Bayou, Crystal Tea Room, Wanamaker Building, 100 Penn Square East, 610-833-3161, www.bringbackthebayou.com.
