Cerberus Shoal

Rock/pop

Cerberus Shoal is the soundtrack to a seething dwarven army tearing apart a village piece by piece with catapults and blind rage. The Bostonian seven-piece has been kickin' it as a band for more than 10 years with epic and orchestral post-rock jams ranging from the sublime to the supersonic. On their 11th (!!) LP, The Land We All Believe In (North East Indie) four out of six tracks surpass the 10-minute mark, with the final epic "Taking Out the Enemy" clocking in at a mighty 16:40. Yeah, that's long, but Cerberus Shoal's live show is bound to be filled with jangly guitars, twinkling xylophones, accordion and a slew of other instruments to hold your attention. Just picture the walls falling as a dwarven army marches gloriously to victory.

Mon., Oct. 17, 8 p.m., $6, with Jack Rose and Oni Gosen, Circle of Hope East, 2007 Frankford Ave., second floor, 215-423-2880, www.circleofhope.net/east.
