Who could forget the 2001 NBA finals when Beyoncé and those other two [Editor's note: Their names are Kelly and Michelle, I Googled it. ] walked onto the court, our court, at halftime wearing (gasp) Lakers gear? Not even the scantily clad eye candy could keep Sixers fans from booing. But that was hardly a speed bump to Destiny's Child, one of the top female groups in the world. Earlier this year, the Childs announced they'll go their separate ways, leaving fans to question whether Beyoncé's solo success crumbled the groups' get-along-gang personalities. The ladies are quick to set the record straight, saying they just want to establish their identities outside of Destiny's Child. So this world tour will be their last. Does this mean we can finally retire the term "bootylicious"? Here's hoping.
Fri., Aug. 5, 7 p.m., $20-$79.50, with Amerie, Mario and Tyra, Wachovia Center, 3601 S. Broad St., 215-336-3600.
